Chiropractic truly embodies healthcare and does not purely focus on the removal of symptoms to the detriment of overall health. This means that we try to prevent problems from arising by raising the tolerance of your body. Think of your body like the ground during rainfall. If the soil is dry, compacted, and unhealthy, even a small amount of rain can quickly puddle and flood. This is comparable to your body reacting with pain or stiffness. But if the soil is rich, healthy, and well-aerated, it can absorb much more water without issue. Chiropractic care is like the equivalent of nourishing and strengthening the soil. You’re not stopping the rain as life’s stresses still come but you’re changing how your body handles it. This remains true to our aim to always keep you doing the things you love rather than giving up your beloved activities all together.

The noise which can be heard during an adjustment happens when joint surfaces are separated causing the pressure here to drop and gas to be released. The noise is not a good or a bad result but can be a sign that movement has been created at a particular joint. However, joint movement must be reassessed after an adjustment as a very loud crack/pop does not necessarily mean movement has been created and vice versa.

Being free from symptoms is a great position to be in, but we are also aware people tend to normalise symptoms they have experienced for a long time. Clients also find that they can experience benefits from our care they did not realise were possible. This means for many people it can be a great time to come and visit us, particuarly if it is your first time, so that you can experience the benefits of our care and learn more. Chiropractors are healthcare professionals and should advise against treatment and refer elsewhere if they feel your case is outside of their scope of practice.
