Care Methods
Every individual presents to our clinic differently, meaning no two sessions at West Chiropractic Care will ever be the same. This is because the mental and physical stressors a person experiences are ever changing, meaning the care you receive must reflect the current state you are in. Below are some of the methods which can be utilised within a session.
Chiropractic adjustments
A high-velocity low-impact thrust directed to a specific segment of your spine. The goal is to improve the movement within the spine and subsequently reduce the stress on your nervous system so that your soft tissues can work at their full capacity.
Blocking
Blocks support your pelvis in a specific position so that tension and pressure is reduced on key joints and cartilage within your spine. This allows your body to realign naturally, promoting better stability, function, and overall ease of movement.
Cupping
Cupping therapy involves the use of small suction cups to increase circulation, ease muscular tension, and support the body’s natural healing processes. It is often used by elite athletes, including swimmers, to help manage pain and inflammation by encouraging blood flow and promoting a localised immune response. Cupping is commonly integrated with other manual therapies to aid musculoskeletal recovery and overall wellbeing.
Needling - coming soon
Needles can can be used in two main ways. The first involves inserting needles into specific points along your body’s meridians to help reduce dysfunction and support the flow of energy. These points may be located far from where you feel discomfort, as the goal is to restore overall balance and flow throughout your system. The second approach targets trigger points—tight, sensitive areas within muscles. By inserting needles directly into these points, it can help release tension, improve muscle function, and support your body’s natural healing response. Both techniques aim to reduce muscular tension and restore a greater sense of balance and harmony in your body.
In addition, other methods such as muscle release techniques, exercises, and post treatment advice, will always be provided when required.
Chiropractic is not only concerned with treating back pain! Chiropractic care can also help with:
Neck pain, shoulder pain, sciatica, headaches, migraine prevention, sports injuries (e.g. tennis elbow, runner’s knee, ankle and wrist sprains), and even generalised aches and pains.
